Umbrella Dry Bar in downtown Raleigh

After less than four months in business, downtown Raleigh's first non-alcoholic bar is closing its doors.

Co-owners Meg Paradise and Kevin Barry opened Umbrella Dry Bar on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2023.

The bar announced Tuesday night via Instagram that it would be closing on Friday, April 26.

"While we have made the difficult decision for Friday evening to be our next and last service, we remain committed to exploring this brand new spirit-free cocktail bar concept with you," the owners wrote.

"Although we’ve truly found success and joy here in downtown Raleigh (and believe you have, too!), we’ve decided our forever home is better suited in a different space and model. We will not be renewing our lease, but will be pursuing Umbrella Dry Bar’s forever home in a new way – in a pop-up model, so that we can meet you where you are in the community!"

Since opening, the owners said they have served more than 7,500 non-alcoholic cocktails.

"We’re planning innovative pop-ups, private events and much more," the owners wrote.
